CCTV Installation

A modern CCTV system uses high-resolution IP cameras connected back to a network video recorder. Each camera can capture sharp colour images at night thanks to infrared and starlight technology, and the footage can be played back from a phone or laptop from anywhere with an internet connection. We install systems for typical Essex homes, ranging from a two-camera setup covering front and back to multi-camera installations covering large gardens, side gates, driveways and rear extensions.

Cabling matters. The cheap ten-pound DIY camera kits leave wires hanging through eaves, drilled clumsily through window frames and looped along soffits where they fail in the first wet winter. We run cabling discreetly, drill through walls in concealed spots, use proper outdoor-rated cable, and finish junctions with weatherproof boxes. Recorders are mounted somewhere central — typically a loft, cupboard or office — and the system is configured for remote access on your phone before we leave.

Video Doorbells

Video doorbells are now standard kit on a lot of Essex front doors, and for good reason. They let you see and speak to whoever is at the door whether you are upstairs, at work or away on holiday. We fit hard-wired video doorbells onto existing doorbell wiring, replacing the old chime with a new wired or wireless one as needed. We also fit battery-powered models where there is no existing doorbell wiring.

Most installs take well under an hour, and the result is a tidy, properly powered installation that will not need its battery charging every fortnight.

Burglar Alarms

We fit and replace wireless smart alarm systems suitable for typical homes. Modern systems combine PIR motion sensors, door and window contacts, panic alarms and indoor cameras, all driven from a hub that you arm and disarm with your phone or a key fob. Notifications come through to your phone if anything is triggered, and you can grant access to family members so they can also disarm.

We talk you through which areas to cover, where to place sensors so pets do not trigger them, and how to set part-set modes so you can sleep upstairs with the downstairs armed. The system is tested and demonstrated before we leave.

Security Lighting

Good outside lighting is one of the cheapest and most effective deterrents available. We fit motion-sensor floodlights at side gates, rear gardens and driveways, dusk-till-dawn lights at front doors, and discreet bollard lights along paths. All lighting is properly fused, weatherproof and in line with Part P electrical regulations where applicable.

We also fit smart bulbs and switches in outside lights so you can schedule them, dim them or trigger them from a phone or voice assistant.
